How to preview and test your careers page before going live

Getting Started

Previewing your careers page allows you to see exactly how it will appear to candidates. This guide explains how to preview your page and what to check before making it public.

Accessing the Preview

Ensue you have a CNAME configured:

  1. Go to Settings > Career Page

  2. Look for the Live Preview button at the top of the page

  3. Click the button

  4. Your careers page opens in a new tab

What to Preview

Visual Elements

Check that everything looks correct:

  • Logo - Appears correctly, right size

  • Colours - Primary and secondary colours applied

  • Fonts - Correct font family displayed

  • Hero Image - If used, displays properly

  • Banner Text - H1 and H2 text visible and readable

Layout and Design

Verify the layout:

  • Header - Company branding visible

  • Navigation - Easy to use

  • Job Listings - Display correctly

  • Footer - Contains expected information

  • Spacing - Adequate white space

Content

Review the content:

  • Company Name - Correct and spelled properly

  • Job Postings - All live vacancies appear

  • Job Details - Click through to verify

  • Application Forms - Function correctly

Checking Functionality

Links

Verify all links work:

  • Back to homepage link

  • Privacy policy link

  • Job detail links

  • Application links

Forms

Test application forms:

  • All fields appear

  • Validation works

  • Submission successful

  • Error messages clear

Navigation

Check navigation:

  • Easy to move between sections

  • Breadcrumbs work (if present)

  • Menu functions correctly

  • Back button works

Troubleshooting

Preview button doesn't work:

  • Check that CNAME is configured

  • Verify DNS has propagated

  • Try the default URL instead

  • Clear browser cache

Page looks different than expected:

  • Clear browser cache

  • Try different browser

  • Check for CSS conflicts

  • Verify settings are saved

Some elements don't display:

  • Check that images are uploaded

  • Verify URLs are correct

  • Ensure settings are saved

  • Try incognito/private mode

Mobile view looks wrong:

  • Test on actual device

  • Check responsive CSS

  • Verify viewport settings

  • Clear mobile browser cache

Tips

  • Preview Regularly - Check after every change

  • Test Thoroughly - Don't skip device testing

  • Get Feedback - Show others before going live

  • Fix Issues Promptly - Address problems immediately

  • Keep Testing - Regular checks ensure quality

Going Live

Once you're satisfied:

  • Your careers page is already live

  • Changes take effect immediately

  • No separate "publish" step needed

  • Monitor after going live
