Getting Started

If you're experiencing problems with your careers page, check these common solutions first. Most issues can be resolved quickly with simple steps.

Common Issues

Page Not Loading

Try these steps:

  1. Check you're using the correct URL (yourname.careers.talentats.ai)

  2. Verify your subscription payment is up to date

  3. Clear your browser cache and try again

  4. Try opening in an incognito/private browser window

Your Logo or Branding Not Showing

Check:

  • Your logo file uploaded successfully

  • File is under 500KB in size

  • File format is JPG or PNG

  • You clicked "Save" after uploading

  • Try clearing your browser cache

To fix:

  1. Go to Settings > Career Page

  2. Re-upload your logo

  3. Click Save

  4. Refresh the page in a new incognito window

No Jobs Appearing on Your Careers Page

Common causes:

  • You don't have any live vacancies

  • Vacancies are set to "Draft" status

  • Vacancies have passed their closing date

  • Vacancies are archived

To fix:

  1. Go to your Vacancies page

  2. Check you have vacancies with "Live" status

  3. Verify closing dates are in the future

  4. Make sure vacancies aren't archived

  5. Refresh your careers page

Application Form Not Working

Try:

  1. Use a different web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)

  2. Disable browser extensions temporarily

  3. Clear your browser cache

  4. Check your internet connection

  5. Try on a different device

Careers Page Looks Wrong on Mobile

Steps to resolve:

  1. Check on an actual mobile device (not just a small browser window)

  2. Clear your mobile browser cache

  3. Try rotating your device (portrait/landscape)

  4. Test in different mobile browsers

If you've added custom CSS:

  • Your custom CSS may not be mobile-friendly

  • Try removing custom CSS temporarily to test

  • Use responsive CSS units (%, em, rem instead of fixed px)

Images Loading Slowly

Solutions:

  • Reduce your image file sizes (aim for under 200KB)

  • Use compressed JPG format instead of PNG

  • Resize large images before uploading

  • Check your internet connection speed

How to compress images:

  • Use free online tools like TinyPNG or Compressor.io

  • Resize to appropriate dimensions (hero images: 1920x1080px or smaller)

  • Save at 80-90% quality

Custom CSS Not Applying

Check:

  1. Your CSS syntax is correct (no missing semicolons or brackets)

  2. You've saved your changes

  3. Clear browser cache after saving

  4. Open in incognito mode to test

Tips:

  • Test one CSS change at a time

  • Use browser developer tools (F12) to debug

  • Start with simple changes to verify it's working

  • Remove CSS temporarily if it breaks the page

Can't Change Careers Page URL

Remember:

  • Your careers page URL is set in Settings > Career Page

  • Enter only your identifier (e.g., "company-name")

  • Don't include ".careers.talentats.ai"

  • URLs must be unique (try variations if taken)

Browser-Specific Fixes

All Browsers

  1. Clear cache and cookies

  2. Try private/incognito mode

  3. Update to latest version

  4. Disable extensions temporarily

Mobile Browsers

  1. Clear app cache in settings

  2. Update browser app

  3. Restart your device

  4. Try a different browser app

File Upload Issues

Logo Won't Upload

Check:

  • File size is under 500KB

  • File format is JPG or PNG (not GIF, BMP, or other formats)

  • File name doesn't have special characters

  • Try a different image file

To compress:

  1. Use free online compression tools

  2. Reduce image dimensions if very large

  3. Save as JPG with 80% quality

Hero Image Issues

Requirements:

  • Maximum file size: 500KB

  • Recommended size: 1920x1080px

  • Format: JPG or PNG

  • Landscape orientation works best

Prevention Tips

To avoid common issues:

  • Save changes regularly

  • Test in incognito mode after making changes

  • Optimise images before uploading

  • Keep browsers updated

  • Test on multiple devices before sharing widely

  • Don't make too many custom CSS changes at once
